Greece - World Summer Special Olympics - "Athens 2011"

Description: The inner part of the coin depicts the emblem of the Games – a life-giving radiant sun, a symbol of high achievement and the strength of the participating athletes. High achievement is symbolically represented by an olive branch, and strength – by the spiral that originates from the center of the sun. On the right, along the upper edge of the inner circle, the occasion is inscribed: "XIII SPECIAL OLYMPICS W.S.G. ATHENS 2011", as well as the name of the issuing country "ΕΛΛΗΝΙΚΗ ΔΗΜΟΚΡΑΤΙΑ". The mint mark is placed between them. The outer ring of the coin depicts the 12 stars of the European Union.
