The image symbolizes Slovakia's entry into the European Union and the euro area, presenting a stylized portal rising above the map of Slovakia and the euro symbol, surrounded by the stars of the European Union, some of which are covered by the map. The coat of arms of Slovakia is located on the left of the image. On the left at the bottom, in a semicircle, is inscribed the name of the issuing country – “SLOVENSKÁ REPUBLIKA”. The date of the country's founding “1.1.1993” and the year of issue “2018” are depicted one above the other, below the right side of the map. Between the map and the founding date are the mark of the Kremnica mint (Mincovna Kremnica), consisting of the initials “MK” placed between two dies, and the stylized letters “PK” – the initials of the designer Pavel Károly. On the outer ring of the coin, the 12 stars of the European Union are depicted.
