The first Slovak Presidency of the Council of the European Union

Description: At the centre of the design is the coat of arms of the Slovak Republic on a background of dynamically centripetal lines representing the position and importance of the Slovak Republic during its Presidency of the Council of the European Union. To the right of the coat of arms is the year “2016”. Around the edge of the inner circle are the name of the country “SLOVENSKO” (Slovakia) and the inscription “PREDSEDNÍCTVO SR V RADE EÚ” (Slovak Presidency of the EU Council), separated by graphic symbols. Between two dies is placed the Kremnica Mint mark, consisting of the letters “MK”, and the stylised initials of the designer of the national side – Vladimír Pavlica, “VP”, are in the lower part of the composition. The outer ring of the coin depicts the 12 stars of the European Union.
