Italy 2 Euro 2011 - 150th Anniversary of the Unification of Italy UNC

Description: In the inner part of the coin, in the center, three Italian flags blown by the wind are depicted, symbolizing three past fifty-year periods – ending respectively in 1911, 1961, and 2011 – an illustration of the perfect connection between generations. This is also the emblem of the 150th anniversary of the unification of Italy. Along the upper edge of the inner circle around the three flags, in a semicircle, are inscribed the words "150° DELL' UNITÀ D'ITALIA" (150th anniversary of the unification of Italy). Superimposed to the right of the center, one on top of the other, the letters "RI" indicate the issuing state – the Italian Republic. Below the three flags are inscribed the years "1861 › 2011 › ›". In the center below them is the mint mark "R", and to the right along the edge of the lower part of the inner circle – the letters "ELF INC." – the initials of the artist Ettore Lorenzo Frapiccini and the first three letters of the Italian name of his profession (incisore). On the outer ring of the coin are depicted the 12 stars of the European Union.
